Kmetije
Eko Kmetija Gabršček
Is a family-run organic farm from Kamno. Their goal is to produce, process, and offer customers everything that grows and lives on their farm. They provide a wide range of culinary delights, from dairy to meat products.
Their cows graze around the farm as well as on the Kašina mountain pasture. This is one of the smaller yet still active alpine pastures, among the oldest in Slovenia, located at an altitude of 1,060 meters.
On the farm, they raise the indigenous Krškopolje pig breed, from which they produce cured and fresh meat products, lard, cracklings, salami, blood sausages, and sausages. From the milk of around 40 cows, they produce a full range of dairy products: cheese, cottage cheese, plain and fruit yogurts, buttermilk, and butter.
Blaž Kravanja
The farm raises the indigenous Drežnica goat breed and some cattle. Every spring, the animals are taken to the Bošca mountain pasture, where they stay throughout the summer until October.
Bošca pasture, located at 1,370 meters above sea level, is unique among the pastures in the Soča Valley. Unlike others, where goat or sheep milk is used, here dairy products are made from cow’s milk with a small addition of goat’s milk, giving the products a distinctive flavor. The entire production process takes place on the pasture: from milk production to processing into cheese, cottage cheese, whey, and more.
Eko kmetija Černuta
The farm is located in Triglav National Park in Log pod Mangartom, not far from Bovec, beneath some of Slovenia’s highest peaks—Mangart and Jalovec.
The farm has been engaged in raising the indigenous Bovška sheep breed and cheese-making for generations. The sheep graze on nearby pastures and are also taken into the Koritnica valley. The sheep’s milk is processed in their own dairy into traditional Bovški cheese with protected geographical indication and albumin curd.
Sirarstvo Kramar
The farm is located in the village of Zatolmin. It is a family farm whose main activity is cattle farming and the processing of milk into dairy products. All their own milk is processed into homemade cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, and whey. Cheese and yogurt are available in various flavors. Their products are available throughout the year, which is quite special for this region where seasonality and alpine grazing are more common.
Kmetija pr’ Lukčevih
The village of Seniški Breg, where the farm is located, lies near the town of Kanal in the middle part of the Soča Valley. This is a more distant supplier but well worth visiting, as some of the best cured meat products are made here by a dedicated and passionate farming family. The farm continues a tradition dating back to 1890, and the meat is processed using methods of their ancestors and aged naturally in a 300-year-old stone cellar.
Vesna and Janko Komac
The blossom honey in our basket is produced and packaged very close to Bovec—in a small hamlet just a few kilometers to the west—by local producers who are passionate about beekeeping. Although they were introduced to beekeeping in childhood, they started their own hives only a few years ago. Beekeeping quickly became their full-time passion. They speak about bees with great love and enthusiasm, which is reflected in the high quality of their honey, repeatedly awarded at professional competitions in Slovenia and across Europe.
Kmetija Zorn
A young, dedicated, and ambitious fruit-growing couple from the Vipava Valley, who today manage 3,500 trees of apples, plums, persimmons, figs, pears, cherries, and almonds. Most of the trees are apple trees, making table apple production their main activity. Surplus fruit is processed into apple juice, while less visually appealing apples are used to make excellent jams from various fruits grown on the farm.
Fruštek
Fruštek is the first Slovenian brand of crunchy granola without added sugar. Their granolas are baked mixtures of flakes, nuts, and dried fruit made from the best organic and locally sourced ingredients, lightly sweetened only with Slovenian honey and agave syrup. They contain no artificial additives and are exactly the kind you would make at home.
Čebelarstvo Braz
A family that has been beekeeping for 25 years in the village of Vrsno, managing around 200 bee colonies. The bees are moved to different pastures, allowing them to offer a wide selection of monofloral honeys and other high-quality bee products. They also produce and sell dried fruit, liqueurs, and teas.
Mlekarna Planika
Planika Dairy is closely connected to the tradition of alpine grazing, characteristic of the Alpine region and especially the Soča Valley. Planika is the only dairy in Slovenia that is 100% owned by farmers. Through its operations, it actively supports local producers by purchasing cow’s milk exclusively from local farmers. This contributes to the preservation of livestock farming, cultivated agricultural land, and life in mountainous areas.
